Muddy Hell – Little Devils – Kids Information Pack
Hell is almost upon us and by now I’m sure you are anxious to know what’s in store for you this weekend. Well, we aren’t going to tell you, but we will give you some information you need to know.
WHAT DO I NEED AT REGISTRATION?
You won’t need your order receipt on the day.
All participants should show up and head to our registration tent with their ID.
For kids bookings, no ID is required we will just need their name and date of birth to locate them in our system.
All participants will need to complete a waiver.
All participants under 18 must have their waiver signed by a parent/guardian.
Please print and sign your waiver beforehand to save time.
WHEN SHOULD I ARRIVE?
You should arrive at least 45-60 minutes before your race time which is in the attached document. This will allow plenty of time to park your car and get your race bibs and drop off your bag if you need to.
WHAT DO I GET?
Besides the most satisfying feeling in the world when you finish Muddy Hell you will also get:
A race bib sticker, the coolest kids medal ever, finish line water
IS THERE SOMEWHERE TO LEAVE MY BAGS?
Yes, there is, bag check will be charged at $2 a low price to not have to worry about all that stuff for the day.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Everyone is different, but we suggest you dress for the weather without being too heavy or wearing clothing that holds water if you get wet. We also suggest shoes with a decent grip on them that you can run in, trail running shoes are best but if you don’t have any then wear some runners you won’t mind getting dirty or destroyed.
WHAT ELSE SHOULD I BRING?
- A towel or 2 to dry off
- A change of clothes – You won’t want to get in your car with your post race clothes, trust us!
- Plastic bags (for your very dirty clothes and shoes)
- Cash for super cool Muddy Hell merchandise and food (EFTPOS may be available but its reliant on mobile phone service and no we don’t trust Telstra either)
- ID for registration and over 18’s can get a beer after crossing the finish line, but if you have a baby face we may ask for your ID. Take it as a compliment
ARE THERE SHOWERS AND CHANGE ROOMS
Yes there are showers and they are warm but please keep the showers to a maximum of 3 minutes per person (we have limited tank water available), the showers are for washing the mud off, they weren’t intended to get you spotless.
Yes there are changing rooms, they do tend to get pretty dirty throughout the day, it is a mud run after all. Please consider others when you use these facilities, clean up after yourself and don’t leave rubbish behind.
There are bins provided for rubbish, wrappers and bottles and if you use gels or food on course do not dispose of the wrappers on course there is wildlife and horses that could choke on them. Also if you decide after the event you don’t want your shoes or clothes please take these home and dispose of them yourself. We do not like picking up your undies and stinky shoes after you leave. Its not a nice job and it’s a health hazard for staff.
WHERE DO I GO?
Parking is at Penbank School @ 460 Mornington-Tyabb Road, Moorooduc 3933 (just off Eastlink). When parking please follow the signs and any instructions from volunteers assisting with parking, we anticipate it will be busy so we ask for your patience and careful driving to ensure safety. Please car pool where possible to reduce car park and entry congestion.
WHAT ABOUT THE COURSE, I’M FREAKING OUT!
Muddy Hell is an obstacle course that has been designed for all ages and all fitness levels but in saying that if there is anything you don’t think you can do then please just skip it and move on. Not all obstacles will suit all people so don’t feel let down if you think you can’t do a particular obstacle.
For the kids course, parents are allowed to go on the course with their kids, so dress appropriately. You should also consider bringing a change of clothes and shoes as well.
There will be trained medics on site, if you need any medical attention on course please let a volunteer know and we get the medics to come to you.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I MISS MY WAVE
So long as it’s not the last wave (11am for Adults / 3pm for Kids) you can always jump in the next one all together. Last waves are at 11:00am for adults and 3:30pm for kids.
ANYTHING ELSE WE SHOULD KNOW?
We’ve just finished building a small Ninja challenge and have invited a whole bunch of our Ninja friends to come down, meet the kids, demonstrate their ninja skills, challenge a few parents to have a go and possibly have a mini head-to-head battle.
Our Ninja’s will be floating around our Ninja Rig (near registrations) from 11am to 3pm, so if you’re waiting for your wave to start or you’ve finished and would love to meet some ninja’s, keep an eye out for them on Saturday!
If you have any questions, please email us on email@example.com or message us on our Facebook page but please understand we are now out on course creating mud pies so please be patient with us and only message us if it’s really important.
See you in Hell!
